    1. I especially love the quote you posted, "Children are like wet cement. Whatever falls on them makes an impression", by Dr. Hiam Ginnot. This statement allows me to reflect on how important it is that we as educators, mothers, sisters, etc. must be cognizant of the type of relationships and models we set with young children. They soak up every little thing and often times do as we do.

    2. Evelyn Keating's comment is so definitely true. Waiting to Kindergarten is setting a child up for failure. Ignoring early childhood education increases the likelihood that you may get a student that has never attended daycare, HeadStart, or any early learning program, how do you catch this child up while trying to educate your other 20 students in the room? Early childhood education is very important in this battle of literacy.
