Professional Practice
Professional and Interpersonal Behavior
1. We shall demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, and honesty in all our professional activites in order to inspire the trust and confidence of the children and families and of those with whom we work.
I chose this one because of the recent article I did on the CRCT. How several of the educators in Atlanta are getting fired because they changed answer on the test.
Professional Collaboration
2. We shall honor and respect the rights, knowledge, and skills of the multidisciplinary colleages with whom we work recognizing their unique contributions to children, families, and the field of early childhood special education.
I chose this one because I think as any grade level teacher its important share ideas with everyone. Sharing our ideas makes our job easier.
Ethical and Evidence Based Practices
Evidence Based Practices
3. We shall include the diverse perspectives and experiences of children and families in the conduct of research and intervention.
I chose this one because I think as educator we need to include different culture and let children share their culture with us. Its very important that we do not let the children from a different background lose their culture.
Great post! I could not agree with you more about your choices. We need to be as professional as possible, we as educators need to give 1000 percent to our children and families. We have their children best interest at heart. Collaboration is so important because we can not do it all long it takes everyone.
ReplyDeleteYour first option, We shall demonstrate the highest standards of personal integrity, truthfulness, and honesty in all our professional activities in order to inspire the trust and confidence of the children and families and of those with whom we work, is very important. I feel that teachers are forgetting the true reason that that are certified educators. There are standards and ethics to uphold. About three years ago I was employed at a school of which the Principal was responsible for assisting teachers in changing standardized test answers. This went on for several years until she had a teacher to stand up to her. That teacher who stood up to her remembered the importance of code of ethics and the oath that was signed before the test was administered. No amount of money or bonus incentive should lead to a person being disloyal.
ReplyDeleteI believe this principle, "We shall honor and respect the rights, knowledge, and skills of the multidisciplinary colleages with whom we work recognizing their unique contributions to children, families, and the field of early childhood special education," is awesome. As stated by my director, people must learn to stay in their lane and respect everyone elses lane. I take that to mean be an expert in your area and do not hesistate to request assistance from other professionals in the field.
